Our fourth session of the Lockdown Lives was conducted by Jonathon, our Digital Marketing Lead. This time, he interviewed Sophie, an MSc Marketing Management student that has lived in Chester since 2016. We wanted to know how this lockdown was been for Sophie, and she made herself clear about it: “During the first lockdown I lived with Fran -Media Lead of Outside The Box-, and we were always doing something interesting like Tik Tok related, playing games or whatever. Whereas this lockdown… it really depends on the people you are with to make you experience it or not, so personally, this is the worst lockdown for me”.
Feeling creative Even though Sophie was feeling this lockdown the worst so far, she has unchained her most creative side. She picked up her brushes and has been working with acrylics making a marvellous elephant that turns out to be tactile and drawing fairies to lighten up her days. She even did henna tattoos down the arm, just for fun. “Before I started Uni, I did art at college, so that was my first passion, I guess. I found it quite relaxing”, Sophie explained. “I also quite enjoy listening to audible stories; but I’ll rather listen to music when I work, when concentration is there”. Loss of motivation Jonathon asked Sophie about what is being the most difficult thing for her during lockdown. “Finding motivation to get my work done”, Sophie explained. “Meeting my friends was kind of a reward in that sense, and now we cannot go out. I live in extensions now… I will rather be working than being a student at the moment”, said Sophie, justifying how challenging it is being for her this time. At the end of the session, there was a time to play games as it is usual during these sessions. This time, Jonathon introduced the game Guess the song. He really challenged Sophie, and also the audience, as no one was able to guess what the first song was. However, Sophie soon tuned her ears, and she was able to guess three out of five songs. And thanks to the game ‘Never have I ever’, we found out some fun facts about Sophie, like the time she fell asleep during a lecture at Queen’s Park. But if you want to know the other fun facts… you should have watched our session live 😉 Next time, do not miss it out! The next event will be conducted by Fran Shollo, Media Lead of Outside the Box, interviewing Amey Hellen, the Secretary of the Business Society at the University of Derby.
